Odisha Fights COVID-19: OSEPA To Provide Digital Books For Online Studies
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has decided to provide digital books to students to pursue their studies online due to the closure of schools during the lockdown.
The OSEPA Project Director, Bhupendra Singh Poonia, informed that though the digital books have been uploaded on the official website of OSEPA http://osepa.odisha.gov.in/, the students are finding it difficult to download them because of the large size of the files.
“We are trying to sort out this problem by compressing the size of the files within a week so that the students can easily download the soft copies of their books. We have already uploaded about 30-40 digital books covering all subjects for the students from class I to VIII. Our prime objective is to impart online education to the students till the lockdown is over,” he added.
Poonia said OSEPA will provide brochures to the district and block education officers soon to oversee online education in their respective areas.
Talking about online education for the students of Classes IX and X, he said OSEPA has advised the students to download the Diksha app. “While some students have started using this app, efforts are being made to facilitate the remaining students to use it. The district education officers will be entrusted for this task,” he said.
