Odisha Fights COVID-19: Recovery Rate In The State As High As 30%

Odisha's Mortality Is Also Quite Low, At 1.6%

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been doing very well among Indian states in containing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to data released by #Odisha govt, the state has a high recovery rate of 30%. As of now, 18 of 60 #COVID19 patients have recovered.

“One more case has also tested negative, but is not considered among recovery cases due to his comorbidities,” a government official stated.

Compare Odisha’s figures with some of the other states, and the results are clear.

As per the latest numbers provided by Ministry of Health, Maharashtra ( 2687 cases, 259 recoveries) has a recovery rate of 9.3%; Tamil Nadu’s (1204, 81) percentage is 6.72; Delhi (1561, 30) is at 1.9%, UP (735, 51) is at 6.9%, West Bengal (213, 37) at 17.4%.

The overall figures for the country are 11,933 cases, 1344 cured for a recovery rate of 11.3%.

Odisha’s mortality rate is also much lower — 1 death out of 60 cases, that is just 1.6% — in comparison to national figures. Among other states doing well so far in mortality rate are Bihar (70 cases, 1 death, 1.42%), while no deaths have been recorded thus far from states like Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh.

As for overall figures of India, there have been 11,933 positive cases and 392 deaths, making it a mortality rate of 3.28%.
