Burla: Expressing solidarity with the efforts of the Odisha government to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID19), the doctors of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) have apprised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of their decision not to withdraw the four-month advance salary.
In a letter, the VIMSAR doctors requested the Chief Minister to instead utilise their salary amount on the needy at this critical juncture.
Besides, they also requested him to make necessary arrangements to provide good quality masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers attending to COVID-19 patients.
On March 25, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced that doctors, paramedics and healthcare workers in Odisha, who are the first line of defence providing relentless services amid these difficult conditions, would get advance salary of four months in April.
