Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government had already made it mandatory for people to wear masks when stepping out of their homes. On Thursday, the government announced that those not abiding by the order will be fined.
According to Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, a penalty of Rs 200 will be imposed for the first three instances of violation. Thereafter, a violator will be penalised Rs 500.
The rule came into effect from Thursday morning.
