According to sources, the 5T Secretary and Chief Secretary reviewed manpower tie ups, medicines, ICU facility and isolation wards of the hospitals in these three districts.

A 150-bed hospital is being set up by Tata Steel at Jajpur and a 200-bed hospital at Kendrapara will be managed by SUM Hospital. The COVID-19 hospital at Bhadrak with 120 beds will be managed by the Salandi Hospital.

Another dedicated COVID hospital of Tata is already functional at Dubri in Jajpur district.

Earlier, the Odisha government had made COVID-19 treatment available at seven hospitals including KIMS Medical College and SUM hospitals in Bhubaneswar, Aswini Hospital in Cuttack, and Hitech Medical College and Hospital in Rourkela.

The senior officials also discussed with collectors and SPs about lockdown enforcement, social distancing, decongestion of market areas and communal harmony in these districts, the sources added.
