Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Raghubar Das on Monday announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to a tribal girl student who has lost her parents in Deogarh district.
During a visit to the district, the Governor held a meeting with farmers in the panchayat office at Balam village under Barkot block.
At the meeting A woman drew his attention to helpless tribal girl Pooja Kisan.
She said Puja is a Class IX student in Residential High School at Nuagaon. She lost her father in 2011 while her mother passed away in 2023. The Governor patiently listened to the woman and expressed his sympathy for the girl.
Later, the Governor announced Rs 1 lakh as financial assistance for the tribal girl and advised the people to help her in all possible ways.
