Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal felicitated Dr Balaram Sahu, a faculty at SOA in Bhubaneswar, for his contribution to educate tribal farmers and livestock keepers.
Dr Sahu, who had launched ‘Pathe Pathsala’, a roadside class project to teach farmers, livestock keepers, unemployed youth and women about the science, skill and technology required for livestock rearing and income generation in 2008, explained his work to the Governor.
Prof Lal, who had invited Dr Sahu to attend a programme, ‘Interaction with Achievers’, at the Raj Bhavan here, evinced interest in the concept of ‘Pathe Pathsala’. Dr Sahu also presented some of his books to the Governor on the occasion.
“I explained my work to the Governor who wanted to know the future of this project,” Dr Sahu said.
Dr Sahu has won a national award for outstanding contribution in the field of science and technology communication. He was also invited by Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, China, to deliver lectures to the students in 2013.
