Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, along with First Lady Jayashree Kambhampati, took a holy dip in Triveni Sangam at Mahakumbh Mela near Prayagraj on Tuesday.
“It is a wonderful experience to participate in Mahakumbh. It is the conglomeration of expression of faith and belief in Sanatan Dharma by crores of people,” he said.
The Governor praised the Uttar Pradesh government for the meticulous planning, ensuring a smooth experience for millions of devotees. “Water is very clear and everyone can take a dip here,” he added.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy CM K V Singh Deo had also participated in the Mahakumbh and taken part in the bathing ritual.
The world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, which commenced on Paush Purnima (January 13), is set to conclude on February 26.
Around 1-2 crore devotees are expected to take the holy dip on the last ‘Shahi Snan’, which will be held on the occasion of ‘Maha Shivratri’ on Wednesday. “Complete arrangements have been made for the upcoming Shivratri festival… Efforts will be made to ensure that there is no traffic jam anywhere in the Mahakumbh area. All arrangements should run smoothly…No matter how big the crowd is, we are fully prepared,” ANI reported, quoting Maha Kumbh Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna.
