Odisha Governor Turns Singer, Renders Voice For Odia Song
Bhubaneswar: Revealing his high esteem and love for Odia culture and spiritual legacy, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has rendered his voice to an Odia song.
The Governor has sung the song “Ye mati Odisha, ye jati Odia’ (this land is Odisha and the race Odia) in Odia language. As many as 15 singers have rendered their voice to the song that was recorded in a studio at Niladri Vihar in the city.
Speaking on his experience to the media, the Governor said, “What is sung as a homage to the Lord turns into ‘Gita Govind’ or ‘Bhagwat Gita’. It is not only a song but an offering to the God which will touch the heart of every person.”
“The song is about the contribution of Odia culture to nourishment of spiritual pursuits of the mankind,” said music director of the song Premanand. It reveals a different aspect of the Governor’s personality despite the high post held by him, he added.
The song is penned by Basant Das Samal. The audio and video tracks of the song will be released on the occasion of coming Utkal Diwas on April 1.
