Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday announced financial assistance for the sevayats of Maa Mangala temple in Kakatpur in Puri district.
In a letter, Endowment Commissioner Chitta Ranjan Mahapatra has asked the tehsildar of Kakatpur to provide Rs 4000 each to the family of 153 sevayats.
The sevayats had prayed the High Court to direct the state government to provide financial assistance as the closure of the temple due to COVID-19 pandemic has put their livelihoods at stake.
