Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Monday announced a major healthcare initiative under which free and prompt treatment will be provided to accident victims in three private hospitals within the first 48 hours of the mishap.
Under this initiative, free medical, surgical or critical care treatment will be extended to the victims in Apollo and AMRI hospitals in Bhubaneswar and Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack.
A three-member cell has been formed for guiding and coordinating the treatments. The members are Dr Anil Kumar Sahu, Manilal Gupta and Dilip Kumar Nanda.
The resource for the treatment will be met from the ‘free treatment to trauma fund’. “The objective is to ensure that no lacune remains in the treatment due to the financial constraints of the patients,” a government communication said.
In an earlier announcement, the state government had said it will also include private hospitals in Sambalpur, Rourkela and Berhampur in the next phase.
