Odisha Govt Approves New Colour Code For School Buildings

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved a new colour code for buildings of all state-run schools, including PM SHRI schools amid the ongoing controversy over its decision to cancel Panchayati Raj Diwas celebration on March 5.

The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has sent a communique on adopting uniform colour code for all government schools to the collectors of all 30 districts. “It is requested to issue suitable instructions to concerned field functionaries for adoption of the approved colour code in all government schools, including PM SHRI schools, during construction, repair and renovation works. This order would be
in supersession of all previous instructions related to colour code of school buildings,” the letter issued on March 4 said.

The walls of the school buildings will be painted in the shades of orange frost with orange tan borders.

This comes four month after the Mohan Majhi government changed the colour and design of uniforms for Class IX and X students of public and aided schools, replacing the green associated with the previous BJD regime with light brown and maroon.
