Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday effected a major reshuffle among IPS officers by shifting 18 senior police officers from the present place of posting.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, IPS officer AM Prasad, who has just returned from Ventral deputation, has been posted as the Special DGP (Director General of Police) at Human Rights Protection Cell of Odisha police.
Special DG of railway police and coastal security Sudhanshu Sarangi has been posted as DG Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards, while Additional DGP (Law and Order) RK Sharma has been shifted as Additional DGP police headquarters.
Additional DGP (Modernization) Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as Additional DGP (Law and Order) and Additional DGP (Communication). Additional DGP (Operations) Amitabh Thakur is the new Transport Commissioner of Odisha.
Similarly, Additional DGP (Headquarters) Suresh Dev Datta Singh is the new Additional DGP (Operations) and Dayal Gangwar, who has returned from central deputation, is the new Additional DGP Railways and Coastal Security.
Additional DGP, SFSL, Rajesh Kumar, has been made the new Additional DGP (Modernisation) and Central Range Inspector General of Police Narasingha Bhol is the new Excise Commissioner of Odisha.
Excise Commissioner Ashish Singh has been posted as the Central Range IGP at Cuttack and IGP, SFSL, while South-Western Range DIG of police Rajesh Pandit has become DIG of Fire Services and Home Guards.
DIG of police (SAP) Akhilesvar Singh has been posted as DIG (SIW) and Fire Services and Home Guards DIG CS Meena as DIG of South Western Range at Koraput.
The government has also transferred SPs of 5 districts in the reshuffle. Keonjhar SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra has been transferred and appointed Rourkela SP. He will replace Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo who has been shifted to Sambalpur, while Nitin Kusalkar, the present Balangir SP will be new Keonjhar SP.
The present Sambalpur SP, B Gangadhar has been appointed as Mayurbhanj SP. He will replace Khilari Rishikesh Dyandeo who has been appointed as Balangir SP.
