Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has expedited the process to identify fake schoolteachers.
Director, Directorate of Higher Secondary Education Raghuram R Iyer on Tuesday said that Block Education Officers (BEOs) and District Education Officers (DEOs) have been instructed to examine the credentials of all schoolteachers and file a complaint against those, who had earned appointed by submitting false certificates.
“The state government has earlier dismissed a few of such teachers on basis of FIRs lodged against them. Hearing a PIL, the High Court had sought the status of the FIRs and accordingly, the BEOs and DEOs have been asked to submit a report,” Iyer said.
He said that that the Directorate has initiated the process following allegations that some teachers had been appointed by submitting fake certificates.
