Bhubaneswar: Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra on Thursday said that standalone COVID hospitals are being set up in all districts to shield doctors, health personnel and non-COVID patients from getting infected.
“As many as 24 hospitals have already been set up, 11 more will be ready by April 20,” he said.
Mohaptra gave a detailed presentation on the 24 hospitals that are already functional. “In Boudh, the building on an old jail campus has been converted into COVID hospital and it is being completely managed by the government,” he said.
He said that the health workers and service providers in COVID hospitals are being provided sufficient PPE. “The health staff are being put up in hotels and hostels as they have to undergo 14-day quarantine after attending duty for as many days. Other dedicated facilities are also being developed for them,” he added.
