Odisha Govt Extends Functioning Of COVID-19 Facilities Till Dec 31
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday extended the functioning of the COVID-19 facilities in the state till December 31 with effect from October 1.
In a letter, Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Pradipta Mahapatra said the decision was taken following a recommendation to this effect by a technical committee.
Mahapatra also said as part of a rationalization, the number of general beds in the facilities that have shown less than 50 per cent occupancy in the last two weeks shall be reduced by 50 per cent of the approved capacity.
However, the approved capacity in intensive care units (ICU) and other facilities like maternity OT, labour room, dialysis, etc. shall remain unaltered, he added.
He requested the COVID facilities that have signed MoU with the state government to take appropriate action and intimate it to the Health Department.
