Bhubaneswar: Come Friday, you will have to pay Rs 4 extra for a litre of OMFED milk.
The Odisha government on Thursday hiked the prices of OMFED (Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation) milk.
According to the revised rates, per litre of Premium and Gold Premium milk will cost Rs 44 per of Rs 40. Similarly, toned milk will be sold at Rs 38 per litre, up from Rs 34.
Notably, the OMFED milk rates were last revised in December 2014.
On September 10, Agriculture Minister Arun Kumar Sahu had informed that the state government would take a decision on rate hike after the private milk-producing companies increased the price of milk.
He had also said that OMFED proposed a hike and the government was considering a price suitable to both the consumers and milk farmers.
