Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated the process to conduct computer-based test (CBT) for enrolment of aspirants for Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) in 2023-24 academic year after a gap of three years.
According to sources, the government has invited tenders from private agencies to conduct the CBT. The last date for submitting the tenders is March 22.
After selection of the agency, the Directorate of TE and SCERT will register the candidates, issue online admit cards and arrange examination centres. While around 1.2 lakh candidates are likely to appear at the test, the examination centres will be opened in all districts of the state, the sources said.
The aspirants can appear at the examination in both Odia and English languages for enrolment in the DElEd, earlier known as Certificate Training (CT) course for teachers.
For the benefit of the candidates, the selected agency will conduct a mock test 15 days before the examination. They will be allotted 90 minutes to answer 90 questions in the CBT.
It may be noted that the last enrolment for DElEd was held for 2020-21. There are total 6,500 seats for the course in 30 DIETs, 4 BIETs and 31 ETEIs in the state.
