Odisha Govt Introduces New Promotion Scheme For OMES Cadre
Bhubaneswar: In order to address the delay in promotion of Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES) cadre, the state government has implemented Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) scheme.
The Health and Family Welfare department, in a notification on Friday, said in order to encourage the members of OMES cadre and bring about greater commitment and dedication among them, the government had introduced the Time Bound Career Advancement (TBA), de-linking financial benefit, for the faculties of government medical colleges. The government also introduced place-based incentives for the faculties serving in medical colleges.
Considering the cadre strength of different disciplines under OMES cadre, where promotion faculties of the medical colleges is discipline specific, there is often delay in promotion. In order to address this problem, the government has introduced the DACP scheme.
“The faculties of OMES cadre working in government medical and dental colleges will be provided 2 assured promotions i.e., after 6 years and 12 years of service counted from the direct entry level after being recruited through Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC),” the notification said.
A screening committee will be specially constituted to decide the eligibility of the medical college faculties for up-gradation(s) under DACP scheme. The committee will consider the cases of those faculties who would complete the required mandatory period by the end of previous calendar year i.e., December 31.
