Bhubaneswar: A day after taking oath as Odisha Chief Minister, BJP heavyweight Mohan Charan Majhi is set to operate temporarily from the state guest house in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is likely to function from the state guest house as a temporary measure, while search is underway for a permanent office. No suitable place has so far been found for the purpose.
Majhi, a firebrand tribal leader representing Keonjhar in the Assembly, reached the state guest house after returning from his visit to Puri. Majhi is stated to have held some official meetings in the first floor of the guest house, which has reportedly been readied for functioning of the CMO for the time being.
After beginning to work from the guest house, the CM is said to have called several senior officials and issued certain instructions for immediate implementation. The CM reportedly also held discussions with senior officials of Housing and Urban Development department.
Meanwhile, the I & PR department has issued a clarification on the purported state government’s order on removal of 5T Charter and Mo Sarkar boards, which were introduced by the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) regime in the state. “The news item with regard to ‘Mo Sarkar’ & 5T posted reportedly on the social media account (X) “Mohanmajhi_bjp” is not based upon fact,” it posted on X.
It was earlier reported that the department has directed immediate removal of 5T Charter and Mo Sarkar boards from all government offices in the state.
The information, it further said, was posted on the fake Facebook account of the CM and shared details of his official social media handles:
