Bhubaneswar: Two days after Plus II students held protest rally in the capital city demanding cancellation of their Board examination due to prevalent COVID situation, the state government on Saturday said it is exploring the ways to go ahead with it on offline mode.
Speaking to media persons, here, Director of Higher Secondary Education, Bikash Mohapatra on Saturday said the examinations of Class 10 and 12 might be held in the offline mode and the government would take a decision soon.
He further said the officials of Education department have discussed various issues regarding the examinations including infrastructure, adequate classrooms, open space and staff crunch with district education officers and some higher secondary schools.
On online classes, Mohapatra said the content has been developed and the ways to attract more students were also discussed by the officials. The principals have been told to focus on increasing the participation of students.
It may be noted that hundreds of students took out a rally at the Master Canteen Square, here on Thursday to press their demand for cancellation of the Board examinations in offline mode as their courses cannot be covered in online classes in a short period.
They also demanded that the Council of Higher Secondary Education should announce their results as per the marks obtained in the quarterly examination conducted by their colleges.
