Bhubaneswar: A day after directing Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to initiate the selection process for direct recruitment of university teachers, the state government on Tuesday nominated six officers of joint secretary rank of the Higher Education department as the syndicate members for 12 state-run universities.
While director Ashwini Kumar Mishra has been nominated as the syndicate member for Utkal University and Sambalpur University, additional secretary Jayant Narayan Sarangi has been nominated for Berhampur University and Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya, additional secretary Rajashree Mohanty for Ravenshaw University and Rama Devi Women’s University, additional secretary Prashant Kumar Rath for North Odisha University and Fakir Mohan University, joint secretary Birendra Karkara for Khallikote University and Kalahandi University and joint secretary Surendra Kumar Panda for Gangadhar Meher University and Rajendra University.
The department will bear the travel and daily allowances of these six syndicate members during their tour to these universities to attend the syndicate meeting.
