Odisha Govt Okays 12 New Farm Projects Worth Over Rs 72 Crore
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday sanctioned 12 new projects worth Rs 72.95 crore under Rastriya Krushi Vikash Yojana (RKVY).
The projects, sanctioned at the State Level Sanctioning Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, would be financed both by the Central and State governments on 60:40 sharing basis.
The Chief Secretary directed to identify the projects having potential for promotion of farm entrepreneurship. He also told to specify deliverables with time lines against each project and monitor those closely.
He asked the project implementing departments and agencies to expedite implementation of the projects through ground level monitoring.
Presenting the projects submitted by different departments, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers empowerment Saurabh Garg outlined their technical, financial and administrative aspects.
The projects that were approved included promotion of pheromone traps for army worm and insects on crops, e-paste surveillance and management, promotion of soil-less nursery in tribal regions, promotion of high value crops, supply of kitchen garden kits, support to WSHGs for mushroom cultivation, planting material support for flower cultivation, construction of seed storage godowns at nine places in different districts, and, supply of mix fruit plants for backyard plantation.
The committee also approved the Annual Action Plan of Rs 91.36 crore under different sub-schemes like “bringing green revolution to eastern India” (Rs 88.84 crore), “reclamation of problematic soils’ (Rs 2.5 crore) and “crop diversification programme”.
