Bhubaneswar: With the annual Plus II examinations scheduled to begin in Odisha from March 3, the state government has ordered tight security at all examination management hubs.
The School and Mass Education Department has directed the superintendents of 1143 examination centres and supervisors of 202 examination management hubs to consult their respective district collectors, SP and the local police to take necessary steps for the deployment of armed police at all the hubs and provide police escort teams during the dispatch of question papers to the examination centres.
Meanwhile, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has decided to take action against the junior college authorities for not installing CCTV cameras in the examination hall.
Sources in the Council said that though some colleges were asked to install CCTV cameras with power back-up by Friday evening, they are yet to comply with the order. The Council will recommend the School and Mass Education Department to take appropriate action against the authorities of the colleges, said a senior official.
The official also informed that the Council has directed the college authorities to facilitate physically-challenged students in appearing for the examinations. It has been decided that the physically-challenged students will dictate answers to students of the Plus II first-year, who will write for them in their answer sheets.
