Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is planning to construct a flyover, new ring road and Railway overbridges (ROB) to ease traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar amid the growing population.
The Public Works department gave a presentation, elaborating on the proposed projects, to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan here on Tuesday.
These include Jaydev Vihar-Nandankanan new road, a ring road from Patia railway station to NH-16 on Daya West Canal, upgrading Sundarpada-Jatni road, a new road from the Institute of Mathematics on Patapalli-Trishulia Road to Ekamra Kanan, flyover at Kalpana Square-Museum-Ravi Talkies, ROB between Sishu Bhawan Chhak and Mausi Maa Chhak and Tamando-Chandaka-Baran-Dhauli-Tamando ring road.
The Housing and Urban Development Department gave a detailed presentation on Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri Economic Region and the formation of Greater Bhubaneswar.
Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singhdeo and Pravatii Parida, Minister for Works Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Krishnachandra Mohapatra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary, Works Department, V V Yadav, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department Usha Padhi and other senior officers were present.
