Odisha Govt Rejects Voluntary Retirement Plea Of 10 Doctors

Bhubaneswar: The  Odisha government has rejected the voluntary retirement plea of 10 doctors.

In a letter, the Health and Family Welfare Department said that it will not be possible to accept their voluntary retirement plea in view of the acute shortage of doctors in the state.

The 10 doctors, who had applied for voluntary retirement, are Dr Manoj Kumar Agrawal, senior medical officer of the district headquarters hospital (DHH) Kalahandi; Dr Pradeep Kumar Rath, Department of Medicine of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital, Baripada; Dr Sukant Panigrahi of DHH Sambalpur; Dr Ashok Kumar Purohit of the Sub-Divisional Government Hospital, Dharmagarh (Kalahandi); Dr Kulamani Boral, General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) of DHH, Puri; Dr Prabhat Kumar Sahu of Basanta Manjari General Hospital in Chandpur (Nayagarh), Dr Suchitra Sahu of DHH Sambalpur; Dr Umarani Acharya of DHH Baripada (Mayurbhanj); Dr Sevak Meher of DHH Bargarh and Dr Jagannath Pahi of the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.

It may be mentioned that 1695 of 8719 sanctioned posts of doctors in Odisha are vacant.
