Odisha Govt Seeks Expenditure Details Of Temporary Medical Centres
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday asked the district administrations to submit expenditure details of the temporary medical centres (TMCs) set up in gram panchayats.
Principal secretary, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Deoranjan Kumar Singh has written to collectors, Block Development officers (BDOs) and Project Directors, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) of DRDAs asking for the details of 16,813 TMCs by June 19.
“In order to maintain financial propriety and books of account, the civil construction work of each TMC should be measured, check measured and total expenditure incurred on all items of work like civil construction, electrification, bed, bathroom, toilet and drinking water be assessed (in Gram Panchayat, Block and district wise) and details of such expenditure be furnished to the department within seven days positively,” Singh said.
The district administrations have also been asked to form a team comprising of BDO, AEE, JEs/ GPTA (Gram Panchayat Technical Assistants), GPEO (Gram Panchayat Extension Officer) and the sarpanchs at the block level to conduct physical verification of each TMC and quantify the work in physical terms and assess the exact expenditure incurred.
The expenditure incurred for the arrangement of food, personal hygiene kit, sanitation, security, two bedsheets and one pillow with cover till May 31 should be submitted to the department in a separate format.
The state government has allocated Rs 5 lakh from the Central Finance Commission (CFC) and State Finance Commissioner (SFC) funds to Gram Panchayats for setting up TMCs in each panchayat for institutional quarantining of the returnees.
