Responding to apprehension amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state, Jena tweeted that there was no basis of this speculation. “Ppl are requested not to resort to unnecessary panic buying,” he added.
The weekend shutdown is being enforced in high-case-load Ganjam (649), Puri (108), Nayagarh (93), Cuttack (189), Jagatsinghpur (97), Kendrapada (169), Khurda 9276), Jajpur (326), Bhadrak (151), Balasore (197) and Balangir (123) till June 30.
Meanwhile, the corona positive tally in the state has gone up to 3140. The virus has so far claimed nine lives while 2133 have recovered from the infection.
