Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday suspended secretaries of 15 primary cooperative societies and dismissed a data entry operator in different districts for alleged irregularities in paddy procurement in 2020-21 Kharif season and disobeying government order.
According to a government release, the suspension orders were issued to secretaries of Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) under Central Cooperative Banks of Sambalpur, Balangir, Boudh and Keonjhar. The dismissed data entry operator belonged to Sadha PACS in Keonjhar district.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain said the secretaries were suspended in order to ensure transparency in paddy procurement by the government. Any kind of irregularities and dereliction of duty in the process will not be tolerated, he added.
