Bhubaneswar: Two officials of the Odisha government have been suspended for alleged irregularities in the sale and registration of land in Cuttack and Puri districts.
An official release said on Wednesday that sub-registrar of Jagatpur in Cutack district, Aryadeepta Aranyak Samantray has been placed under suspension for alleged irregularities in the sale of land.
Disciplinary action has been taken against him by the Revenue and Disaster Management department. Samantray will remain in the Cuttack District Collector’s office until the suspension is lifted. The suspension order stated that no leave can be taken by him without permission.
Similarly, additional tehsildar of Pipili Naba Kishore Patra, who is in charge of sub-registrar, has been suspended for alleged irregularities in land registration. Disciplinary action has been taken against him by the Revenue & Disaster Management Department.
Until the suspension is lifted, Patra will remain in the Puri Collector’s office. It is mentioned in the suspension order that no leave can be taken by him without permission.
It may be noted that Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, during the review of the registration service, stressed the importance of transparency and respectable service delivery while directing strict action against registry or sub-registry officers indulging in dereliction of duty, the release added.
