The minister said in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, the state government has taken the precautionary measure to suspend physical classes for Class IX students till April 30.

“The state government is keen on conducting the annual examination for Class IX students. While more than half of the courses have been completed, the remaining courses will be completed very soon after resumption of physical classes. But as the state government is presently reviewing the COVID situation, no decision has been taken on the resumption of classes after April 30,” Dash added.

He said the schedule for the annual examination will be finalized after the completion of the courses and the state government will take decision in this regard after April 30.
