Odisha Govt To Give Stipends To Transgenders Under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal to give stipends to transgenders in Odisha under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.

The Minister for Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disability (SSEPD), Ashok Chandra Panda, said this on Friday.

Panda said that transgenders will be given stipends ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 900 in accordance with their age. This will benefit around 6,000 transgenders across the state, he added.

The minister said that transgenders have to apply online on the ministry’s official website http://ssepd.gov.in/  to avail of the benefit.

He also informed that around 48 lakh beneficiaries under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana will be provided with an advance monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 for four months.
