Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated steps to launch a mobile application to enable people, particularly students, to get various certificates from the Revenue Department through online mode.
The proposed mobile application is aimed at making it easier for people to get caste, residence, income and other important certificates online, Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari told reporters on Sunday.
This app will enable students and others to apply from their homes without visiting Sahaj Jan Seva Kendra, he said.
At present, people have to travel long distances and endure extended waiting times.
“Once the app is launched, people will be able apply for caste, income and residence certificates through the mobile app instead of travelling to the Tehsil offices and queuing up for hours,” the Minister said.
The application will not only allow users to submit applications but also support online payments. Once processed, the department will upload the certificates to the app, enabling users to download and print them at their convenience.
This initiative is part of the department’s efforts to enhance service delivery and provide citizens with easier access to essential documents, Pujari said.
Stating that details of the applications including date and purpose will be recorded through the app, he said the Revenue Department will issue a detailed guideline for issuance of certificates in a particular timeframe.
