Bhubaneswar: A day after getting an extension as Chief Secretary of Odisha, Suresh Mahapatra on Thursday informed about a proposal of Rs 1000 crore expenditure towards the development of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla.
“A masterplan will be prepared for the technical institute and it will be developed as a centre of excellence,” he said during his visit to VSSUT along with 5T Secretary VK Pandian & Technical Education Secretary Hemant Sharma.
He further informed that 80 acre land has been identified for campus expansion and student strength will be doubled from 5000.
Notably, Mahapatra got a second extension of six months as Chief Secretary and will continue in office till February 2023.
