Announcing this on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida told reporters in Bhubaneswar that the Anganwadi workers will receive the financial assistance under the scheme in the third phase of first instalment to be released on November 24.
She said the next phase assistance under the scheme will be released on November 24 during a special programme to be held in Sundargarh and more than 20 lakh women will receive the money on that day. So far, the government has disbursed assistance to around 60.27 lakh beneficiaries.
Stating that verification of the documents has been completed, Parida said over one crore women will get financial assistance by December, 2024.
Regarding the rejected application, the Deputy CM said that a meeting will be convened later in the day to decide the fate of 2.67 lakh excluded beneficiaries. The left out Angawadi workers have been included and they will get the money this time.
Around 5 lakh applicants have some mismatch in their bank accounts. Those who have rectified it will get the assistance on November 24, she said.
Subhadra Yojana was one of the major promises made by the BJP for women in its election manifesto in Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ambitious scheme on his birthday, on September 17, 2024.
Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments of Rs 5,000 each one on Rakhi Purnima, and the other on International Women’s Day (March 8).
