Odisha Govt To Sanction Rs 1,500 Crore For Biju Expressway In Rayagada
Rayagada: The Odisha government will sanction Rs 1,500 crore for construction of 120 km of Biju Expressway in Rayagada district.
This was stated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian while reviewing the progress of the Biju Expressway during a visit to the district on second day on Thursday. The Expressway, which connects southern and western parts of the state, is a major infrastructure for economic development of the area. Of 335 km Expressway, 120 km goes through Rayagada, he added.
During his visit to Kashipur, he reviewed the construction works of the new community health centre (CHC) and interacted with members of the Mission Shakti at Khurigaon village. He said a Plus III college would be set up at Kashipur soon and drinking water supply through pipe will reach each house by 2023.
Pandian then moved to Bissamkatak and offered puja at Shiva temple in Chatikona. He also went to Mission Shakti Cafe and interacted with its staff. He advised them to maintain cleanliness and follow hygienic practices.
He said Smart ID card for each Community Resource Person under Mission Shakti will be provided by the government. During his visit to Jagannath temple and Naliabandh, he asked the officials to prepare a detailed project report for development of the two places and submit it within 6 months.
Besides, Pandian told the officials to prepare the DOR for beautification of the Gadgada waterfall in Bissamkatak within one month.
The secretary, who also visited Padmapur, said all remaining high schools in the district will be transformed under 5T initiative of the government within 6 months.
