Odisha Govt To Take Action Against 172 Officials Of Water Resources Department, Says CM
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will initiate disciplinary action against engineers and officials of the Water Resources Department who face various complaints in discharging their duties.
This was stated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday. Replying to an unstarred question of BJD MLA from Salipur Prasanta Behera, the chief minister said the government has received complaints of various nature including financial irregularities against 172 engineers and officials of the department.
“Disciplinary action will be taken against the officials of the department on the basis of the complaints. The government is taking steps for the action under the Odisha Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Act, 1962,” Majhi said.
In reply to another question of the MLA, Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena said disciplinary action against 32 officials of Mines department is also under consideration of the government.
