Odisha Govt Waives Matriculation Examination Fee For This Year
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced to waive the fee for the students going to appear at the Matriculation examination this year.
Keeping the interest of students, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday instructed the Board Of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha to waive the examination fee, according to a press release.
Since each examinee is charged Rs 420 towards examination fee, the waiver for more than 6 lakh students will entail an expenditure of Rs 27 crore for the state exchequer.
The chief minister said the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the livelihood of people of the state and hoped that the fee waiver will not deprive any student of appearing at the Matriculation examination for monetary problem.
