Cuttack: Three days after he was accused of uploading obscene content on a WhatsApp group for students for online learning, the headmaster of a primary school in Cuttack clarified that the incident happened due to his ignorance on the use of smartphones.
“Sending such obscene materials intentionally is an inexcusable offense. I am ashamed of sending such materials. I admit that this incident has taken place without my knowledge,” the headmaster concerned, Dhirendra Nath Nayak, told the media.
“I used to receive online study materials regularly and send them to the teachers concerned to impart education to the students. My mistake was that I had forwarded this particular subject material to the WhatsApp group without checking it. After I came to know about the incident, I took immediate steps and asked the teachers concerned to delete the forwarded materials. I do not know how the obscene content was linked to the subject material which I had forwarded. I am not well-versed in online education as I do not know the proper use of smartphones,” he added.
On the other hand, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said that police have registered a case and begun an investigation to ascertain the veracity of the incident and appropriate action will be taken against the guilty.
