Odisha Heatwave: Check Temp At 11.30 AM; IMD Issues Orange Warning
Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius at 11.30 am on Thursday, according to the Meteorological Centre here. Keonjhar also recorded a day temperature of above 40 degrees Celsius at 41.4.
The maximum temperatures at other places across the state at 11.30 am were as follows: Bhubaneswar (36.8), Balasore (36.6), Gopalpur (30.4), Sambalpur (39.6), Paradip (31.8), Puri (32.4), Chandbali (37.2) and Hirakud (38.4).

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued an ‘orange warning’ for heatwave in five states, including Odisha.
The IMD advised children, elderly and patients to avoid heat exposure and remain hydrated.
The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued heatwave warning in 11 districts of Odisha till April 30 — Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir.
According to the regional Met centre’s forecast on Wednesday, there will be no large change in maximum temperature during the next 4-5 days in the state. Maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 3-5 degrees Celsius at many places in interior Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2-3 degrees Celsius at a few places in coastal Odisha. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during day time between 11 am and 3 pm.
