The maximum temperature was recorded at 39.2 degree Celsius in Chandbali, 39 degree at Keonjhar, 36.8 degree in Puri and 36.2 degree in Balasore.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday that maximum temperature is very likely to be above normal by 4-6 degree Celsius at a few places over the districts of Odisha during next three days.

Consequently, hot and discomfort weather is likely to prevail during next 3 days, it said, advising people to take precautionary measure and avoid heat exposure, keep cool and avoid dehydration while going outside during day time between 11 am and 3 pm.

Current meteorological condition indicates that no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 3 days and slight fall thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

The MeT office issued orange warning for Sunday and said heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Balangir, Kandhamal, & Keonjhar.

Yellow warning was issued for some of Sundargarh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul & Deogarh districts.

Similarly, orange warning about heat and severe heat wave was issued for Monday in some places of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi and Keonjhar districts.

Yellow warning was issued for some parts of Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Mayurbhanj districts.

The MeT office also issued orange warning for Tuesday in some parts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, and Boudh districts where heat wave and severe heat wave will prevail.
