Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has suo moto lodged a complaint in connection with the alleged torture of four minor boys at Chitrakonda police station in Malkangiri district.
The Malkangiri SP has been directed to submit a report by March 30.
According to sources, four minors accused of gold ornaments theft were allegedly detained for three days at the police station, beaten up and given electric shocks in custody.

The boys, who were picked up from their house on February 12, were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board only on February 14, the family had alleged.
Chitrakonda police station IIC Surya Prakash Nayak had, however, rubbished the allegations and said that the stolen items were recovered from their houses.
