Odisha Included In ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ Scheme
New Delhi: Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday said Odisha, Sikkim and Mizoram have been included in the Integrated Management of Public Distribution System (IM-PDS) scheme.
The scheme intends to ensure nationwide portability of benefits under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) through ‘one nation, one ration card’ plan. It will help the NFSA cardholders to claim their quota of subsidized items from any ePoS-enabled FPS in the country after Aadhar authentication on ePoS.
The facility will now be available in 20 states and UTs. Efforts were on to expand the reach of national portability to beneficiaries of other states, Paswan said. Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Manipur would be added to the facility by August, he added.
