Odisha Inducts 89 New Recruits In Municipal Administration

Bhubaneswar: A total of 89 new recruits joined the municipal administration in Odisha on Monday as part of efforts to enhance efficiency, transparency and community engagement.

The new recruits, including 61 Amins and 28 Auditors, hail from diverse backgrounds. They were handed over appointment letters at a ‘Nijukti Parba’ organised at the Convention Centre of the Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Housing & Urban Development Minister Usha Devi handed over the letter of appointment to the new recruits.

The induction programme commenced with an insightful orientation session by Sangramjit Nayak, Director of Municipal Administration. Nayak informed that for the first time, the department has started this process of recruitment since the inception of the department, an official release said.

Additional Chief Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department G Mathivathanan delivered a keynote address on the journey of urban transformation in Odisha.

Among other dignitaries present were the Minister for Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Science & Technology Department Ashok Chandra Panda, MLA Central Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Sulochana Das. They advised the new recruits on the sense of duty and responsibility towards the citizens they served.

The decision to induct the 89 new recruits into the municipal administration was taken under 5T Governance of the government to gear up for a transformation with aspirations to enhance efficiency, transparency, and community engagement.

The induction of 89 new recruits marked not just the beginning of a chapter but the dawn of a new era in municipal governance—a testament to the indomitable spirit of individuals united in pursuit of a common goal: to build a city where every voice is heard, every need is met, and every dream finds wings to soar, the release added.
