The date, time and examination centre of CBT examination will be mentioned in the admit card of the concerned candidates.”

Notably, the state government had come under severe attack last month for issuing new guidelines for such engagement on an annual agreement, barely 10 months after announcing to abolish contractual appointments.  The School and Mass Education department, however, defended the move as ‘progressive’ and said the decision to abolish contractual appointments did not extend to junior teachers.

According to the gazette notification issued by the department, the agreement will be renewed in subsequent years depending on the performance of teachers. It further said that a teacher can be disengaged from service with a notice period of 30 days if she/he violates the conditions of the agreement following an adverse report by the block education officer based on unauthorised absence/misconduct/involvement in criminal cases and others.

It is worth mentioning here that engagement of primary teachers had been suspended since 2016.
