Berhampur: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday congratulated the students of the government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Berhampur for entering the Asia Book of Records.
The ITIans earned the feat for creating a 70-ft-high guitar with waste materials.
The ‘scrap guitar’ was made by 150 students of five trades—electrician, welder, painter, fitter and turner—in three months and 22 days.
The Berhampur ITI principal, Dr Rajat Kumar Panigrahi, and other teachers guided them in creating the unique guitar, which has bagged the record in the Grand Master category.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted, “Congratulations to students of ITI Berhampur for their artistic creation, 70-ft guitar from waste materials, entering into Asia Book Records. Happy to see our youth embrace such worthy causes to show their skills and shine on global platforms.”
