Bhubaneswar: The Chandbali JMFC Court in Bhadrak district allowed Crime Branch to take four accused in the cameraman Manas Swain murder case on five-day remand.
Those include the main accused Sarmistha Rout, her associate Jhuna Bhoi, retired Odisha Information Service Officer Niranjan Sethi and Ranjan Nayak.
Earlier in the day, a joint team of Bhadrak Police and CB arrested Sarmistha and her associate Bhoi from Nalanga area of Bhadrak district.
Sarmistha, owner of a web channel owner, was nabbed by a joint team of Bhadark police and Crime Branch from Nalanga area in Bhadrak district.
The Bhadrak Police had earlier arrested I&PR Director Niranjan Sethi and Sarmistha’s brother Parameswar Rout in connection with the murder case.
Later the murder case was handed over to the Crime Branch after Chandbali police the Bhadrak police, who was earlier conducting the investigation, had come under a cloud for letting her go after two-day questioning, following which she absconded..
