Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecast thundershower at one or two places in South Coastal Odisha, besides Koraput, Malkanagiri and Rayagada districts for the next two days.
In the last 24 hours, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Balasore, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Ganjam have received sporadic rainfall. The highest of 30.6 mm was recorded in Malkangiri district. There has been no rainfall in the remaining 24 districts.
While the state average was 1.4 mm, two blocks in Malkangiri received more than 50 mm of rainfall. The highest of 77 mm was recorded in Kudumulgumma block followed by 65.4 in Podia block.
The cumulative average rainfall of the state from June 1 till October 15 comes to a surplus of 19.0% over the long term average rainfall, the IMD added.
