Bhubaneswar: After reporting over 3000 new COVID-19 cases for three days in a row, Odisha reported a big jump on Monday with 4445 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to the I & PR Department, these fresh cases have been detected in all 30 districts of the state. Among them, 2574 are quarantine and 1871 local contact cases.
Sundargarh reported the highest of 722 cases followed by Khurda (587), Nuapada (437), Kalahandi (273), Cuttack (251), Sambalpur (241), Jharsuguda (231), Puri (219), Bargarh (178) and Balangir (168).

With this, the number of active cases in the state mounted to 24568.
This is the biggest jump in the daily COVID-19 caseload this year and the percentage increase in the infections in the past 14 days has been 675.74 as the state had reported 573 new cases on April 5.
Odisha has been reporting a daily positivity rate of over 10 per cent for the past few days. It was 10.63 per cent on Sunday.
