Bhubaneswar: The annual Matric examinations in Odisha will begin on February 19, with 5,61,979 students set to appear at 3,082 centres across the state.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the exams to be held at 3,082 centres. To strengthen security, 322 nodal centres have been designated for the safe storage of question papers, BSE officials said on Monday.
Officials have assured that strict monitoring will be in place to prevent any irregularities, with special focus on maintaining transparency and fairness in the examination process.
President of BSE Srikant Tarai said, “Elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of examinations. We have kept timings of exams in the morning for ease of students. Officials will be on stand-by at each and every centre to assist and ensure fair conduct.”
A key highlight this year is the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in exam management. AI systems have been deployed to track and prevent question paper leaks, a problem that previously plagued the examination system.
By identifying potential leak points and monitoring suspicious activity, AI has ensured that no such incidents have occurred in the past two years. Education authorities stated that the integration of AI has not only safeguarded question papers but also streamlined the overall management of the examination process
